The Gundaroo Soldiers Memorial Hall re-roofing project is now complete. After five years of fund-raising the hall has now a new insulated galvanised roof. We are looking forward to another century of leak free roofing. The Hall Committee would like to thank the Yass Shire and the significant funds donated by Gundaroo individuals, and raised by the hall volunteers. It might not look like it, but the roof has a curry night lining.

The Hall would like to invite applications from the Gundaroo community for the re-use of the century-old iron. As there is likely to be more projects than iron available, the Committee will give priority to projects which are of benefit to the Gundaroo community and/or have historical value.

The galvanised iron is more than a century old and varies in quality, number of holes and level of rust. The majority of sheets are approximately 2440 x 680 mm with some 2750 x 680 mm.

The iron will be made available to all applicants at a nominal cost of $2.50 per linear metre and will need to be collected from the hall by successful applicants.

As there is limited iron available, not all applications may be successful.

Expressions of interest should clearly describe;

  • What and where the project is
  • How the project will benefit the Gundaroo community and/or be of historical value
  • Who will do the project work
  • The number of linear metres of iron required for the project

Applications or enquiries should be emailed to info@gundaroohall.org.au by Friday19 October 2018.

Applications will be considered by the Gundaroo Hall Committee and applicants notified as soon as possible.
